Arkansas 85th General Assembly Adjourns Without Passing Satellite Tax

On Wednesday, April 13th, 2005, the Arkansas State Legislature completed its general session without taking action on House Bill 2934, a bill that would have imposed a new 5% tax on satellite TV subscribers.

Last year, many of you contacted your legislators in Little Rock to let them know of your opposition to additional taxes on your satellite TV. Your message was heard -- and legislators again resisted taking action that would have unfairly burdened satellite TV subscribers in Arkansas. Your involvement has been instrumental to our success.

Thank you for speaking out against the satellite tax. We will keep you updated in the event there are any future attempts to unjustly impact Arkansans' satellite TV service with new added taxes.
